Sustainability at Nordic Safaris

Sustainability at Nordic Safaris

At Nordic Safaris, our activities are built around the unique nature, culture and traditions of the Tornio River Valley. As a local family business operating in the Tornio–Haparanda region, we value authenticity, hospitality and respect for our surroundings.

We want to offer memorable and safe experiences while preserving the natural environment and cultural heritage of our region for future generations.

Respecting Nature

Nature is an essential part of our activities throughout the year. We aim to minimise our environmental impact through responsible safari planning, careful use of resources and thoughtful everyday practices.

Our snowmobile safaris follow planned routes, and we avoid unnecessary engine idling. We also encourage our guests to respect nature and the surrounding environment during our activities.

Supporting Local Culture & Community

The Tornio River Valley has a rich cultural heritage, and local traditions are an important part of our identity.

Through our activities, we introduce guests to the nature, history and traditions of Kukkola and the surrounding region.

We value cooperation with local businesses and service providers and aim to support the vitality of our local community.

Safety & Wellbeing

Safety, quality and personal service are at the heart of our operations.

Our employees receive guidance on safe working practices, responsible outdoor activities and environmental awareness. We want to provide welcoming and high-quality experiences while respecting both our guests and the surrounding nature.

Our Sustainability Commitment

We are developing our sustainability work through Visit Finland’s Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) programme.

Our goals include reducing our environmental impact, improving energy efficiency, monitoring resource consumption and measuring our carbon footprint.

We also aim to strengthen sustainability awareness among our employees and partners and continuously develop our operations in a more responsible direction.
