Esox lucius, is a species of carnivorous fish of the genus Esox (the pikes). They are typical of brackish and freshwaters of the northern hemisphere. Pike angling is becoming an increasingly popular pastime in Europe. Effective methods for catching this hard fighting fish include dead baits, lure fishing, and jerk baiting. They are prized as game fish for their determined fighting and have been food fish since ancient. This program ‘base’ is a ferry on the river.

Salmon Salar – Fishing program – 'starting program'

Tornionjoki river is the biggest free-flowing river in Europe in which whitefish and salmon spawn. The traditional form of fishing in “the Channel”, as the water system is sometimes called, is salmon trolling without a motor (by rowing boat).
The program contains rowing preliminary guidance to the fishing spot.
Fishing takes place in two customers per boat, first guide to show fishing areas and after that customers continue fishing, this program ‘base’ is a ferry on the river.
Fishing guidance additional hours, if necessary is 60 € / hour
Supplement: Tornionjoki lure fishing joint permit price 20 € / 24hour. Children under 15 years of age do not need joint permit.
Please note that in Tornionjoki river fishing is not allowed between Sunday 7pm and Monday 7pm.

Shooting the rapids is done in a rubber raft, and the customers participate on steering by paddling. The first shooting is called the ”basic track”, and it follows the Finnish- Swedish border which is also where the river runs deepest. The second run will be an action track. Programm including all necessary rafting equipment, wetsuits and neopren boots, life jackets, helmets. We use self bailing rafts and licensed river guides.

As a standalone program or for those who don’t want to go down Kukkolaraft. The river trip is made on a river ferry, which resembles a log ferry, right on the Finnish-Swedish border, Torne River. Traditional rural landscapes can be found on both sides of the river.
During the expedition, stories are told about the lives of the people of the area, traditional fishing, farming and smuggling over the border.

Whitefish roasted on a spit (a wooden stake) is the delicacy of the Kukkola Rapids. We´ll grill your freshly caught whitefish over an open fire in the traditional Kukkola fashion. While you wait for your fish to be done, you can sit by the fire and listen to stories. Once your fish is ready, you can enjoy it straight from the fire.
The taste will amaze you!
